CBS News, visiting Professor Dickinson College, Diamond Six Leadership and Strategy CEO,

the arsenal of democracy is empty, is the message I get from going through the weapon systems

that Keith needs, but that the U.S. also needs in the event of war in Europe and the Pacific

simultaneously, which is something

once upon a time was biblically fixed at the Pentagon no more because, Jeff, the list is

daunting, not enough patriots, not enough Gimlers, not enough stingers, not enough of anything.

And as far as I can see, the plan to rebuild is years in the making, not how did we get into this, rather how do we get out of it?

Good evening to you, Jeff. Good evening to you, John. You know, you're quite right. I think

unfortunately, as someone once said, militaries don't prepare for the last war.

They prepare for the last war they liked.

And for the U.S. military, I often believe the last war we liked really was the one I was in, the Gulf War.

Short, violent, involved high-performance aircraft, troops on the ground, mechanized attack, tanks, artillery,

all that stuff.

And now we're moving into a whole new world, which is for sustained warfare that goes for a

longer period of time, which demands an increased pressure on the defense industrial base

to create weapons in mass and a whole change in how we

think about warfare based on those things as cyber drone, etc. The puzzle is ahead. Do we believe that

the Trump administration is now taking this gravely, understanding this is an emergency.
