I'm John Batchel with my colleague, Colonel Jeff McCawson, the United States Army

retired artilleryman, CBS News. Korea is a very large contingent of American military personnel and contractors in Korea,

which is why we pay very close attention to turmoil in the government.

Right now, the events of these last 24 hours are impossible to summarize,

so I point to something that was most promising for Mr. Biden

and his administration when you will recall at Camp David there was a photograph of the Japanese

Prime Minister Kishita standing next to Mr. Biden and on the other side was President

Yun of South Korea. The idea that Seoul and Tokyo could work together at the behest of the region

in order to warn China not to attack was very positive. And now, Jeff, whatever is going to happen

to President Yun, he's severely compromised. Does this weaken the U.S. alliance out there, to your
