Summary

Our friends and neighbors Jeanne and Jeff Plaisted walk the walk.  They decided that on their 15th anniversary they were going to do something special.  Massages on the beach in Hawaii?  Nope.  A cruise through the Caribbean?  Try again. They decided to make a difference.  They stepped away from their day to day life and packed up for a two-week trip to Nicaragua.  They were inspired by Spark Ventures, a Chicago-based nonprofit that partners with grassroots organizations to help children in developing countries. They told us about their experience and how it changed their perception of our world.  They also wanted to lead by example and teach their sons (3rd grade and 6th grade) what it means to be a global citizen.  Their story is truly inspiring! Todd has a few spots opening for his Men's Group.  Email me @ [email protected] Tree of Life Chiropractic Care has some interesting workshops planned.  An outline can be found here. 0:46.0

these people all that well, I do love them. Yes. So our guests are... Well, we do know them because

0:51.4

they're members of our community and their friends of ours from our kids. Right. I don't know them well. Well, we're going to get to know them well.

0:56.9

So our guests are Jean and Jeff Plastead. Did I pronounce that correctly?

1:00.1

Absolutely. Awesome. And sweetie, why don't you start as far as why we invited them to be on our show?

1:05.6

Well, I'll just tell my version of the story. So I ran into Jean at school one day, and she was talking with someone about her

1:11.1

trip. And so I just stopped and said, what kind of trip are you taking, thinking they're going to

1:14.4

Florida or something like that? Which is what we did. Which is what we do. We go to Orlando.

1:18.3

With the Universal Studios. And she said, we're heading to Nicaragua for how long? We were there for two weeks. Two weeks. So she said we're going to Nicaragua for two weeks. I was like, what?

1:29.8

1:32.2

And so, you know, obviously didn't see them for a while.

1:36.8

When she came back, I, you know, we guess again in passing, I just asked her how it was.

1:37.5

And she said, amazing.

1:45.2

And I said, we have to with, and how it went.

1:46.8

So that's going to be their job today. So I'm looking at a piece of paper that Kathy printed off called Spark Ventures.

1:52.8

So I tell you, either Gene or Jeff, what is Spark Ventures?
