Summary

Today’s episode is a great Q&A I did in Arizona back in 2018! There are a lot of great topics asked here around non-profits, startups, the predicament of somebody stealing your work and more so there is something for everybody. A lot of what is said in this episode is very relevant to today's landscape so I hope you really take in all in.

Enjoy! Let me know what you thought.

Alright, why don't we go go ahead sir. What's your name and what's your question?

0:19.0

I have a question. What's your experience maybe with ground funding and businesses

0:27.0

that run primarily on crowdfunding, sustainability of that in the future,

0:32.0

are possible issues that come up with how states are looking at taxing crowdfunding and

0:39.0

TPPG online. Look, I think even if your point, the evolution of crowdfunding gets harder

0:45.0

and not as wild, wild west and it changes the dynamics, it's hard now.

Like, you know, crowdfunding is, you know, is really fascinating because people get

0:55.0

excited when they hear about the one startup that gets like a million dollars or a bunch of people.

0:58.0

But like, 99% of crowdfunded companies that are posted don't reach their goals

1:04.0

or get to where they're at. So my answer is this, it will be a model that I genuinely believe

1:09.0

will always be out there because it's native to the internet, right?

1:12.0

We're more connected, it makes sense. But I think it's going to come down to the thing

1:17.0

that it always comes down to, which is I'm not against it. I like it.

1:21.0

I like it the same way it's pitching a high net worth individual to give you a million dollars

1:26.0

for the piece of it. You know, there's a million different ways to, we're living in a

1:29.0

New York now where people don't go to the bank for loan anymore.

1:32.0

And that was the only way we did it in 1989. So things will evolve in funding.

1:36.0

I think it's a viable platform. I wouldn't overly worry about what it's going to look like in 2027.
