And now the low welcome to the low post podcast where the announcement that Kevin Durant

would miss the next three or four games for the Brooklyn nets has underscored the fact

that the season, which is now two weeks old, is going to be the strangest season in the

history of the NBA and one where we might arrive at the end of it.

If we even arrive at the end of it because what's going on in college sports and football

has reminded us how precarious all of this is, we may arrive at the end of the regular

season, look at the standings and say, whoa, how did this team finish in the play and

wait, what do we even really know about about that team because players are going to miss

games. Unfortunately for contracting COVID for being exposed to someone who had COVID for

resting, we're going to see copious use of rest in some places, I think, because again,

some teams had a nine month layoff. Some teams had a very small two month layoff and those

teams are going to be in very different places on rest, on chemistry, on almost everything.

Home teams, according to the geniuses at ESPN stats and information are now 47 and 53,

six games under 500 through the first two weeks of the season that is unprecedented if

it holds up. Obviously there are no fans or very limited numbers of fans as a legitimate

off putting now to watch games on TV and see fans. That's where we've arrived at when

I see fans like, wow, there are fans. What are they doing there? Why does that guy

have his mask off eating a hot dog? It's legitimately off putting. We have these baseball

style series where the road team comes in, plays one game, stays overnight, one night,

two night, plays another game against the same team. Does home court advantage in that

second game matter at all? The team is rested, the team's been in your city, there are no
