Dr. Berg talks about calcium and atrial fib (atrial fibrillation). Even one of the medications for high blood pressure is calcium channel blockers. Taking calcium supplements can spike your risk of getting atrial fib by 3.9 times. That's not percent, but times - a huge increase. 800 mg of calcium has been associated with an increased risk of a cardiovascular event (heart attack).
