Andrea, welcome to the program. Hi, Dr. Laura. Hi. So my, my situation is my mother-in-law is a private caregiver, and she has taken a position

as a live-in caregiver for one of her clients who is about 40 years older than she.

And we have made it known that, you know, we support that, but we're not comfortable with our seven-year-old

daughter spending any time over there, but she's welcome to come to our home.

We're out to spend time with her.

And we have also come to light that she has married this man.

She has not told us directly, which is the information we found out.

Well, last week, she took our daughter to lunch and informed our daughter that she has

married this man and, again, has not come to us yet.

And when our daughter asked questions, obviously, as a seven-year-old, is this my new

grandpa?

She said yes.

And in that conversation, she has talked poorly about our parenting decision to not let

our daughter over there to go swimming or to spend time.

And I'm just wondering what's the best way to have that conversation with her

while also valuing her position as a grandparent.
