For an eighth-straight season, the Denver Broncos will not be playing in the postseason. In Sean Payton’s first season with the Broncos, the team won three more games than they did the previous season, but still fell shy of the playoffs. After a 1-5 start to the season, Payton hoped the Broncos could draw inspiration from the Detroit Lions, who started 1-6 the previous year and finished the season 9-8 and now are in the playoffs this year.
