0:36.0	portrayed the last time he was making headlines. I'm talking about Merrick Garland. He was the Supreme Court pick from Obama that the Republicans,
0:47.1	suppose this is the official story anyway the Republicans wouldn't consider because
0:52.0	they were on the verge of taking the presidency.
0:55.0	So Merrick Garland did not make it onto the Supreme Court, but he's Biden's nominee for
1:01.0	attorney general.
1:02.0	And when he was presented, of course, they nominee for Attorney General.
1:02.8	And when he was presented, of course,
1:04.8	they always present these guys in glowing terms.
1:07.3	He was the hero.
1:08.8	He was a guy who always was, he was,
1:19.7	went the extra mile for justice and integrity in all these really high profile cases he was involved in.
1:22.6	But when you look at the high profile cases
1:26.2	that he was involved in, so this is Merrick Garland.
1:28.6	He's been a judge for a long time, like 25 years.
1:31.8	But before that, for about six years he was a senior official in the
1:36.3	Justice Department and he oversaw the prosecution of a lot of crimes and there's two
1:42.3	things that I think are themes from his past that I see being very relevant to our presence and how he's going to usher in our future.
