This is going to be a hockey program, I swear, but I'd be remiss if I didn't begin by pointing out that Kyle Dubus's press conference today in Cranberry was everything you would want from a general manager, regardless of what team you're following.

His candor, his specificity. want from a general manager, regardless of what team you're following.

His candor, his specificity, while at the same time not, you know, giving away the farm.

You know, he's not giving you trade secrets, okay?

But his honesty, whenever he's talking about, you know, whether it's what position he's going to be pursuing in free agency or what did he and Sidney Crosby talk about last week

and whatever night.

Again, he's not going to tell you everything, but he's not BS in you.

by Taylor Haas up in Cranberry. She covered press conference for us at D.K. Pittsburgh

Sports, the state of the penguins, the annual session that Dubez, Kyle Dubas has with everybody.

And Taylor, is my impression off here? Or was that just really impressive? Yeah, I mean, I think that's really how these, these press conferences go. He's really open about, um, expectations and what, you know, you know, he's not going to tell you like, oh, we're going to do this, we're going to move this guy, anything like that. But I mean, he's pretty honest with, like, his thoughts on the coaching staff, individual players, like Eric Carlson. We talk about Eric Carlson, the goaltending. But, yeah, I thought it was really, really helpful. You know, it's hard to know even where to start. There was a ton of ground that was covered. It lasted almost 40 minutes.

He wasn't going to go anywhere until the last question was asked.

And, you know, not all of the questions were, you know, super easy or comfortable or gee whiz.

You finished awesome at the end of the season or whatever. It was, there were some tough stuff in there.

And again, he handled, navigated all of it.

I thought beautifully, let's begin with his assessment of the coming summer. And you asked him

about this, Taylor. You asked about, you know, where he is in his evolution. He's talked, he's talked

to us about that repeatedly.

He's broken it down in different phases.

And he's got, he's got a vision here.
