Hey guys. Welcome to Double Shot of Steelers presented by the Fanduels Sportsbook. I'm Dan Kovachovich of DK. Pittsburgh Sports.

We are 10 days away from the opening of the NFL draft.

First round beginning at a little bit after 8 p.m. that night, however long the Raiders get when they're on the clock to announce a pick that everybody on the planet knows they're going to be making.

And they could do like within

one second and speed up the process which by the way it's been a topic of conversation in the

football world of late and by that i mean the real football world the people that make the

decisions are looking for ways to speed up this thing now you got to walk a line there between

here come franchise changing decisions and TV

entertainment value. It's like a difficult balance to be achieved there. I feel like the event

is excruciatingly long.

And I'm not just talking about the first round, which is obscene.

I don't like the length of the second and third rounds either.

I'd love to see everything sped up, but then I'm not one of the 32 GMs, and I'm sure they would all feel

exactly the opposite. The more time they have, the more, you know, the more diligence they can do

on every decision that they execute. My focus today is going to be about public relations.

And I'd like to use this episode to stamp out any perception that might exist.

And boy, does it exist?

But the Steelers are going to feel some kind of pressure

or some kind of burden to do something because the draft is here in Pittsburgh.

That won't happen. And that could be the beginning and the end of my commentary on this,

but I'm going to try to explain why.

This is a team that needs its top end talent.
