Hey guys, welcome to double shot of pirates.

I'm Dan Kovachovich of D.K. Pittsburgh Sports.

The setting looks a little bit unfamiliar and a whole lot less interesting.

That's because I'm in Philadelphia.

Getting ready for game six of the Penguins Stanley Cup playoff first round series with

the Flyers out here. That's going to be in about two or three hours.

For anybody who does actually make it through all three shows or even a couple of the shows,

I'll let you know in advance that I'm going to do Pirates and Penguins today,

and then Chris Halleck will be taking over to do the Steelers while I make the fairly annoying commute from here

into Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philly.

It's just traffic here is just yuck.

You guys, the pirates are playing tonight against the Cardinals.

They have a three-game losing streak.

First time we said that all year long.

Bubba Chandler is on the mound trying to overcome,

I should say, you know, some issues he's had of late, particularly control-related.

Andre Palante, the righty is on the hill for the for the Cardinals.

And this team needs to win a ball game. You haven't heard me say that a lot, and there's

reasons for that. Before this, they hadn't lost back-to-back games since. Actually, they hadn't lost

it all month. You have to go back to late March in New York when they opened with the two losses against

the Mets.

So that's what we're going to talk a little bit about today.
