Hey guys. Welcome to Double Shot of Pirates. I'm Dan Kovachvich. He's Jose Negron and the Pirates are taking on the Rockies tonight, beginning a three-game series against one of the worst teams in baseball,

if not the worst team in baseball, really when you couple it with where they were last year.

But I think most people probably are.

Paul Skeens is pitching, too, which doesn't exactly help the Colorado cause.

They have Michael Lorenzen on the mound.

He's been just horrible, even by pitchers who are stuck in Coors Field standards.

6.92ERA.

The number that really screams off the page for Lorenzen is a 1.9 whip.

Like, that's two base runners per inning.

For those of you who don't know what that statistic means,

it's walks and hits per inning pitched.

Absolutely terrible. How about if they get on a little bit

of a role here Jose how about that that'd be ideal and I think that this is probably the perfect

pitcher to do it against just based on what you just said and especially I mean you look back at

the giant series you know what was the best performance

they had? It was in a game where they made the starting pitcher through a lot of pitches.

They had good at-bats. They were drawing out, you know, long at-bats. They were drawing walks.
