My name is Chris Halleck, joining me from Cincinnati, the home of the, well, debated skyline chili.

And just by the look on Jose's face, I think I get exactly Jose's take on it.

But as nasty as it probably is, it couldn't have been nastier than

covering your first game of the regular season and getting a big old goose egg from the Pirates.

It's like 2025 all over again, Chris. I mean, you know, it just, they were just welcoming me back

into the, into the mix for the start of the regular season. But yeah, I mean, I guess you

could say it was as bad as Skyline Chili. I'd go to those levels. Not a good night for the

offense by any means. Four hits. Had a couple opportunities running in scoring position, didn't

capitalize.

I mean, it's the same story, same story that we, you know,

covered so many times last year.

And the only guys that are really holding up their end of the bargain,

as I wrote last night on our site, is the new guys.

Brandon Lau, Ryan O'Hern are doing what they need to be doing,

getting on base, you know, having good at bats, getting base hits when needed.

But one through nine, this team needs to be better and have better production from an offensive standpoint.

Braxton Ashcraft did what he needed to do pitching wise. Career high, six innings of work through career high, 87 pitches.

Wasn't his sharpest. He did walk four batters and he knows that that can't happen but he gave him a chance to win and the

bullpen came in Isaac Mattson and Justin Lawrence did what they needed to do and the offense just

didn't didn't get it done you know you you need the run support. And honestly, aside from that
