with the fourth most rushing attempts in the NFL.

They ran the football, the fourth most times of anybody.

And yet, they finished 26th out of 32 teams in rushing yards.

Stop and think about that for a second.

Only three teams tried to run more often than they did.

Only three teams placed a higher priority on running the ball.

And yet, the one thing that the running is supposed to achieve, which is yards, they were still

26th out of 32.

I am repeating myself, but I'm doing it for a reason.

And it's because that's almost as staggering as this explanation that Mike Tomlin gave yesterday

for why that is when he was asked with those numbers attached to explain why the Steelers

don't just back off of it if it doesn't work.
