Just a wonderful first day at spring training here yesterday.

And I'm going to skip or at least tiptoe around the standard format here today to share why.

I'd mentioned to you earlier in the week before flying down here that my ambition level from a purely

journalistic perspective was going to be pretty low.

I wasn't coming here to break news, blow up some big scoops and things like that.

I just wanted to talk to people.

I just wanted to get a feel from them about

what these pirates expect of themselves. What's realistic to expect from them, both individually

and collectively. And, you know, the one thing that everybody really wants to know is how soon it might get where it needs to get.

Brian Reynolds back I want the real Brian Reynolds back that was the goal of the

off-season just working on getting my swing path back to what it was and the off-season work and BP and stuff, it's good.
