And it turns out, after watching a couple of preseason games, training camp, and so forth,

what's shown itself more than anything is that everything's occurring in tight quarters.

If there's a puck, there's a couple of penguins around it.

If there's an opponent, there's a couple of penguins around him.

When the penguins do get possession, there are a couple of penguins around that penguin who has the puck.
