Kyle Dubus held his annual end-of-season press conference roughly a week out from the actual

end of season.

I've always kind of appreciated that timing because there's a cooling off period for one thing.

And given how emotional he can be, I think you've seen it, or at least read or heard about it,

that's probably a good idea on his part.

But it also allows for some time for him to have had some substantive

conversations with players, with agents, and then to see maybe a little bit extra.

In this case, of the Wilkesbury Scranton Penguins, who incidentally won last night,

two to nothing over Springfield in game one of their Atlantic

division final in the Calder Cup playoffs.

And that allows, I believe, his answers to be a little fuller, a little bit more meaningful.

So in this event, in addition to letting everybody know for the first time, sharing publicly,

that, yes, he wants to bring Yvgeny Malkin back, that he's had more than one discussion

with both Gino and Gino's agent, J.P. Perry, that, of course, drawing the big headline of the day,
