Light travels at approximately 186,000 miles per second.

So, traveling at the speed of light, it takes the light from the sun approximately 8 minutes to reach the earth.

So, assuming that we had a light equally as bright as the sun on the earth, which would be impossible, but let's just assume it for a moment, it would take 8 minutes to reach the sun.

Yet, if I were to ask you to stop what you were doing, whatever you're doing right now for just a moment, and think about the sun, because you know what the sun looks like, you know what it feels like, think about the sun.
