Every single year, it seems like a different cadre of pests and diseases likes to rear its head in the garden.

0:20.0

I remember the first year I was here, Jacques. It was earwigs like crazy. We don't like talk about that.

0:25.0

Jacques has fever dreams and nightmares about it 24-7. I hear him screaming. He wakes up and screams.

And this year, or I suppose last year, maybe it was, oh man, it was more of the roly police.

0:39.0

So they kind of still similar vibe as far as how the pests act. And then this year, not so much of either of those, I have to say.

0:47.0

Yeah, it's been an interesting year. For me, like you said, I haven't really had that many earwigs.

I think sadly, it's probably due to the lack of rain, which you know, good and bad, I guess.

1:31.0

So they got a little too far into the hotter part of the season, and then they got a little more susceptible.

1:36.0

Yeah, but I had crazy amounts of aviage. I mean, that's true.

1:39.0

That's what lost us and one cabbage shriner junior.

1:42.0

They sucked them dry. They absolutely destroyed them in the matter of like two or three days.

1:46.0

Yeah, that was wild.

1:47.0

So that and then a lot more of the june bug and figure beetle sort of category of flyers this year.

1:55.0

I have so many in my yard right now, and it's almost exclusively, I think, because of my calamansi tree.

2:01.0

It has so many fruit that are falling all the time, and that's what they're attracted to really. They love eating fruit.

2:08.0

I saw them on that one fatty peach in my yard, remember?

2:10.0

Oh, yeah.
