Summary
Sudeley Castle, the final home of Kateryn Parr and Thomas Seymour, carries a deep connection to their story. Granted to Thomas when he was created Baron Seymour of Sudeley by his nephew, Edward VI, in 1547, the castle became a place of both joy and sorrow. It was here that Parr passed away on September 5, 1548, shortly after giving birth to their daughter. Kateryn Parr is unique among Henry VIII's wives, as she is the only one to be honored with a magnificent tomb, complete with a stunning effigy. Discover more about the last place she called home and the events that unfolded after her passing.

| 0:47.0 | Soodle Castle, and it's also where Catherine Parr died and was buried. So I took a tour around the |
| 0:53.7 | grounds, even when inside the chapel, |
| 0:56.1 | and I have some stories to tell you about my visit. I hope you enjoy. The Tudor's Dynasty podcast. |
| 1:03.2 | Here I am at the ruins. Everybody knows this as King Richard III ruins. However, if you look at it, |
| 1:09.1 | this is actually the presence chamber of |
| 1:11.7 | Queen Catherine Parr. On the top floor there, you see the windows. Those are huge windows. |
| 1:17.4 | They went from floor to ceiling, and you can kind of imagine where the floor was. And in the middle, |
| 1:22.3 | you have the fireplace. You can just imagine Catherine sitting there by the fire. And looking out the windows, |
| 1:28.7 | she would see the gardens. And then if you go over into the corner where you see the bird |
| 1:33.2 | in the doorway, that is how they would go down to the gardens, is through that doorway. So she could |
| 1:39.0 | sneak down the little staircase there to head into the gardens. But what an amazing place for Catherine to be able to spend. |
| 1:46.4 | Sadly, she didn't get to spend very much time here. |
