President Biden gave a speech talking about the Afghanistan withdrawal, everything that

we've seen over the past several weeks, the policy going back 20 years.

And he did so in kind of a defiant way, saying the policy is right, the execution was sloppy,

but I'm, this needed to be done and I'm glad I had the fortitude to do it.

It was, in my view, a little awkward once again because Biden was at once using this speech

to celebrate the courage of his own decision and at the same time cast blame on all those

others who made contributions to the decision, the people he blamed for this moment, the
