Summary

In which our heroes cross their fingers, cross their toes and howl in agony when the sound of snapping bones reminds them that “crossing” isn’t really in toes’ wheelhouse as we discuss Digits. We reach a very quick consensus on extra thumbs, consider the drawbacks of nub justice and struggle with the concept of amphibious life. Edgoose dishes out some straight-up murder, Tessa repeatedly counts to eleven with potentially Satanic implications and Jackson just wants a concrete definition on pudding. So join the gang as they largely ignore toes to talk about fingers. Apologies if you wanted an hour on the joys of imperceptibly better balance and guidance when counting to numbers between 11 and 20. It’s done now and you don’t deserve better. 0:11.8

Today's topic is digits. Wiggle, woggle, wiggle.

0:14.1

We'll get the numbers.

0:25.8

We're using both fingers and numbers Because as test pointed out to me, the reason that they're called digits

0:29.1

Is because they're for counting on your digits

0:31.9

Yeah

0:32.5

I've never thought about it before but it makes a lot of sense

0:34.6

That's the fullest extent of my knowledge that is correct

0:36.8

That makes a lot of sense Thank you Would you rather have extra digits on your hands or your feet? Assuming you can only have one? Like one extra digit? No, no, like either your hands or your feet. I would say definitely hands. Why? Think of the dexterity. What are you in your life need to do with more fingers?

0:55.9

What could you possibly do?

1:11.0

There's a finite amount of room on your hand. Let's think about it. How many more can we get? I don't know if you've seen this space in between your index and your bloody thumb, but there's plenty of room for at least two fingers. What about down the side of your pinky? You can put fingers out there. Prime real estate. Yeah. Why is there that gap? What do I need in there? So you can do finger pistols.

1:12.7

It would just be for the mobility of your thumb. Okay. Like your opposable thumb. That's the whole reason. Because if there's a finger here, look at this. Thumbs haven't trouble. It's not doing a whole lot better. Would we make the distinction for this digit question that it needs to be fingers,

1:44.9

or could we have more thumbs? Because I always feel like I'd do so much about it with more thumbs. Oh, like another thumb coming out the other side? Oh, my God. Oh, that would be so good. Plus, you'd kind of look like a stingray. Oh, no, that's like a turtle. It's a turtle. That looks a bit like a cuttlefish. Well, yeah, but you do it that way.

1:45.9

If you do it this way, look.

1:47.1

Yeah, you have to have it. Oh, yeah.

1:47.9

Turn your head. The turtle. It's a turtle. That looks a bit like a cuttlefish. Well, yeah, but you'll do it that way.

1:45.0

If you do it this way, look.

1:46.4

Yeah, you have to have it.

1:47.1

Oh, yeah.

1:48.0

Turn your hand.
