We got a voicemail from our newest employee, Ellie, kind of responding to earlier this week.

We talked about the I monkey covering eyes emoji, the C no evil monkey emoji,

where we had discussed what the fuck that emoji means.

And Ellie had one of her ridiculously viral tweets about it, where she has a visceral problem

with the I emoji.

So she called in to respond to that and she got a question of her own.

Hey, guys, it's Ellie.

So the reason that the monkey with the hands coming up eyes emoji makes me so uncomfortable

is because people use it when they're learning.

And what they'll do is like tack it onto the end of more of like a forward sentence, right?

But it's sort of like you're saying whatever I just said, I'm preemptively embarrassed by it or like

I'm shy about what I just said.

And then that's like, what's the point?

And like also what is attractive about that confidence is sexy.

Whatever the fuck the monkey emoji is doing, that's not sexy.

It's creepy and gross and it makes me feel weird.

Look, I can get really, really heated about this.

I'm going to move on before I add a talk for 20 minutes.
