On April 10th, 1998, 40-year-old Diane Augat walked away from her sister's home in Hudson, FL. She would be spotted in the surrounding area over the next few days, but a couple of shocking discoveries would lead investigators to believe Diane had met foul play.

First came a mysterious voicemail received by Diane's parents, which indicated the mentally ill woman was being held against her will. Then came the discovery of her severed finger, along a popular highway, just days later...

0:18.6	Help, help, help, let me out, the woman's voice said, clearly tense and alarmed by what

0:26.1	This was followed by a scuffling sound, which made it clear that someone on the other end

0:34.2	The woman on the other end could be heard saying, hey, give me that, before the call came

0:41.2	While most people wouldn't think twice of such a call, thinking it to be a malicious
0:45.7	prank or a misdial of some sort, or at the very least a bizarre misunderstanding,
0:51.4	Miljrid Young knew better. After all, her daughter, a woman with diagnosed mental illness

1:38.4	began to plant her roots. In the late 1970s, Diane would marry Frederick Auget, taking
1:44.5	on his surname. For a time she seemed to live a pretty idyllic life, becoming a stay-at-home
1:50.0	wife and taking care of the couple's three children, two daughters and a son. Not only
1:55.0	doding upon the kids, but making it a point of pride to keep a neat and orderly home.
