Today is a special day in life of Nicolato,

someone who I know so quite clearly wants to be heard and wants to be seen.

And it's his birthday today.

So let's shout him out. Let's wish him a happy birthday. He's the type that really wants all the attention on the birthday. I think he wants referred to it as a birthday month, not a birthday. I want the celebration to really last throughout the month. He would prefer if we all collectively got together and sang the birthday song to him. A little happy birthday to you, but we're not going to do that right now. Well, I'll leave it to me, the Kermudgeon, to bring up the Larry David, curb your enthusiasm episode. That's now two Herbert references in the last two days. One of my favorite seasons and one of my favorite episodes when he's at Ben Stiller's birthday party and Larry David won't sing the birthday song.

Everyone else in the room is singing it.

And then he catches a glance with Ben Stiller who's looking at him. He's so pissed off. He's not singing. He's like, Charles, like, why didn't you just sing the birthday songs? I don't sing the birthday song. And I'm with Larry. The birthday song freaking sucks. If you're over the age of eight, you shouldn't be wanting the birthday song to be sung to you. And you shouldn't be singing the birthday song.

And if I'm ever at a dinner at any point, my friends or family, so shout out to any of them and a warning to some degree, if you start to sing the birthday song to me, I will walk out of that restaurant. And I can't claim originality on that joke. Shout out Brett Childs. I don't know if you're listening to this podcast. he listened to a bunch of them but he's the one who first told me that he's warned his family multiple times don't you dare sing that song to me i will walk out of the restaurant so happy birthday nick um how you doing today bud i'm doing okay i'd rather i think watch film and get all my work done but uh i have to entertain the girlfriend she wants to take me out later and i have to do it. Beforehand, we're going to get this podcast down and I'm excited to dive into this film. Not surprised at all here that you'd rather be breaking down game film and working than celebrating your birthday tonight, Nick. But I guess that's how it is, baby.
