Well, hey guys, welcome to our daily drive and happy Wednesday.

If we haven't met, my name is Carlos, and I get to be part of the pastoral team here at Lake Pointe.

And we get to hang out this week for a few minutes every day as we dive into the Word of God.

And I'm excited because this week, if you're just joining us, we're talking about how to live devoted to Jesus in a time full of distractions. And on Monday, we talked about being called to be devoted, not distracted.

On Tuesday, we talked about being devoted, not deformed.

And today we're exploring the following biblical truth.

As a follower of Jesus, you are called to live devoted, not discouraged.

And so let me start with this story that I find fascinating, got it from a book called

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Pete Scazzero.

And it goes like this.

There was this wise man living on one of China's villages.

And one day, for no apparent reason, in the small village, a young man's horse ran away and was stolen by

nomads across the border. Now, when this happened, everyone in the village tried to offer

consolation for the man's bad fortune, but his father very wisely said, what makes you so sure
