Almost 22 months of war, images of hunger in the Gaza Strip bring many supporters and friends of Israel to say, enough is enough.

In the meantime, Netanyahu's ministers focus on anything but ending the war.

We have talked for so long about when the world's patience almost might run out.

It felt to me and feels to me as if we've come to that kind of

moment, really. Always you have to make a distinction when you're talking about the world.

You know, it's felt, I think, most obviously in the West, outside the United States.

We're going to get on to the subject particularly of the United States with our guest.

Tom Friedman of the New York Times is going to join us later.

We'll talk specifically about the US.

But outside, you know, there was a letter from 28 countries, including Australia, the UK and many, many European countries.

Voicing, I think, what is a feeling among a whole lot of people

who are friends of Israel, which is just a kind of horror at the images, but also the substance,

the reality of hunger in Gaza. And there'd been warnings of it, there'd been intimations of it,

but it's got reached a point, I think, this week where people can't really, unless they

have a real reason to, can't be denied.

And I think what has captured it as so often are pictures.

And there are just photographs on, you know, strikingly on the front page

of a really pro-Israel, right-leaning newspaper, The Daily Express in this country, of a starving

baby. Skelietal pictures of children now wherever you turn, any website, you open it up,

there are pictures of bone-thin children, and it taps a very deep human nerve, I think,
