Welcome back to this week's episode of the Emily show today. I am sharing with you something

I covered over several live streams and that is the side bars from the Deppie heard trial

What happened is after the trial was done the internet

Band together and purchased

transcripts from the trial and those transcripts have since been made public what the transcripts show is what we did not see

In the coverage of the trial the things that the lawyers and the judge were talking about up at the bench at side bar

So we saw a ton of those happened during

Amber Hurd's testimony during closing arguments during some of Johnny Depp's testimony and we can't hear what the lawyers and judge are saying

But we learned a tremendous amount about this case from looking at how the lawyers were arguing points of law

We're arguing rules of evidence or we're just arguing at side bar at one point Ben Chu calls Dr.

I never expected that but tell me tell me how you really feel Ben Chu

So the side bars were quite illuminating for me it

alleviated some frustration because I eat being on the outside of the thing

I'm used to being able to watch a trial and either be at the side bars myself because I'm the attorney on the trial

Or be able to ask my

Co-worker later what were you guys arguing about at that side bar?

This trial had more side bar meetings than I've seen in a lot of civil trials because civil trials most of this is dealt with emotions and lemonade

Well before the trial things aren't as

spontaneous because there have been years of depositions

Those are mostly done on video in this case. So seeing how these attorneys were

maneuvering was very interesting and it gives us all a chance to learn the rules of evidence and hearsay
