Hey, Deserve and listeners. Today's episode is chapter two in my deep dive on dependent personality

0:06.3

disorder. This episode is just for patrons of the podcast, but I'm going to have a short intro

0:11.5

here. So in chapter one, I went over a full description of dependent personality disorder.

0:19.1

In this episode, I'm going to go over the causes as I see them, and according to the research

0:25.5

of dependent personality disorder and dependency in general. This is perhaps the most important

0:31.7

chapter because I think when you understand the causes, everything else makes sense. But first,

0:37.2

I thought I would give my second case presentation or fictional composite of someone with dependent

0:44.1

1:27.6

her fears of strangers. As a child, her parents fought a lot. Eventually, her parents got a divorce,

1:35.6

and she witnessed a lot of the fighting as all the children did. And it was protracted over a

1:42.7

number of years. Her older sister, Michelle's older sister, was preentified and took care of Michelle.

1:49.9

Her sister was rewarded for taking care of Michelle. Her big sister resented that responsibility,

1:57.1

but also kind of liked that responsibility. But due to her resentment, she took out her anger

2:03.5

on Michelle. She was preentified into care Michelle, but she also was very harsh with Michelle as a

2:10.4

younger sister. Michelle appreciated the attention from the big sister, but also often felt humiliated

2:17.3

and small and incompetent. As she entered school, Michelle did fine. Her teachers liked her. She got

2:25.6

along well with everyone, but sometimes bullies took advantage of her because she was quite passive
