During a period of exactly 30 years, starting in 1974, an enigmatic horror terrorized the Midwestern state of Kansas

with several house invasions resulting in the gruesome deaths of at least 10 people.

The police was left clueless, the neighbors fearful of their lives, and the killer apparently stated,

choosing to seize his murderous activities for many years until he once more tormented the police as late as 2004,

ultimately leading to his capture in February of 2005.

Dennis Linn Raider was born on March 9, 1945.

He was the oldest of four brothers and the son of William and Dorothea Raider.

A lifelong Lutheran, he was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, Kansas.

His father was a member of the US Marine Corps who later worked for the Electric Utility KGNE, starting in 1948.

The family moved to the largest city in Kansas, which it is, when Dennis was a young boy.
