but it was kind of a situation where I knew I was a

first time director, we weren't going to have a lot of money, so I just kind of looked to

what actors I knew personally or actors that I thought I had some sort of tenuous connection

to that I could get to, and I just started writing roles for them. And the biggest, obviously, was John Hawks.

I really feel like the city is the star of that movie because it takes place all over the
