Karen Falaska told me that in the summer of 2017, she was working in her office in Boulder, Colorado,

and she got a call from the University of Colorado Police Department.

I was at my desk, just a parking lot away from the police department.

And they were wanting me to come over there.

I already knew in my heart that something was going on.

It's the niece of case.

Karen was nervous.

She'd spent almost 50 years hunting for the man who murdered her sister,

and she sensed the truth might have finally arrived.

But now, it seemed like all she wanted to do was get away from it.

And I kept saying, you know what, I can't come out today.

I'm just, my backs up against the wall and have deadlines.
