So if you've been irritated when you go to the pump to get gas, you're supposed to be

believing that the person you should hate for the high gas prices is the evil person that

owns the gas station, right?

They tried that on us this last week where the Biden administration is like, you know,

they're the ones that are hurting.

You may not realize that the majority of those gas stations are actually owned like 99%

of them by individuals.

They are actually small businesses.

You may not realize this, but they make pennies off of each gallon like literal pennies off

of each gallon of gas you buy.

They make more money when you come in and buy a candy bar, more money when you buy a drink,

more money when you buy a lot of ticket, more money when you buy anything in the convenience

store.

The gas is basically the lost leader.

Now the prices and the margins are so slim at gas stations that many of the people that

own them are furious that they have now been turned into the bad guy.

People are coming in and saying things.

In fact, I was talking to my producer this morning, he was talking about a guy that was

actually so dumb that on the radio, he actually said, don't buy drinks from these evil gas

stations and that will hurt the bottom line of these oil and gas companies, which is a lie.

It will only hurt the small business owner that owns that gas station.

That gas station also pays for what we refer to as spot pricing.
