The Senate Democrats on the White House have reached an agreement to prevent a partial government shutdown

and temporarily fund the Department of Homeland Security amid talks over new limits on the White House's immigration enforcement push.

Both sides have agreed to separate DHS funding from the other legislation in the package.

They'll then also do what's called a continuing resolution to fund DHS for two weeks, allowing them more time for negotiations to get to

Democrats' demands. All of this coming after two people, of course, were killed by federal
