• On Monday, Donald Trump took the witness stand in a civil fraud case in which New York Attorney General Letitia James, a political rival, alleges the former president inflated the value of assets controlled by the Trump Organization in financial statements. If Trump loses the case, he could be fined up to $250 million and be prohibited from doing business in New York moving forward. Notably, in 2018, while campaigning to become Attorney General, James vowed to “sue” Donald Trump—providing evidence to Trump’s argument that this civil suit is entirely political.
• While speaking outside of a New York courthouse on Monday, Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba accused Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron of belittling her, yelling at her, and “slamming” his fist on a table—referring to the judge as “unhinged.”
• On Sunday, Face the Nation discussed a new CBS/YouGov poll which indicates that Americans believe they would be in a better financial situation if Donald Trump were to win the 2024 presidential election.
• According to polling data from The New York Times and Siena College, Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in five of six key swing states: Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania—with his lead ranging from 4 to 10 points in each state. • While speaking with Fareed Zakaria on CNN, political commentator and comedian Bill Maher said he doesn’t believe President Joe Biden can win the 2024 presidential election citing recent polling: “some of these polling results, I think people need to look at them. She says there is more than the notes passed between the judge and his law clerk at issue. The judge, in a meta moment that he acknowledges, is now consulting with the law clerk in question, Allison Greenfield. • Over the weekend, progressive Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) released a video on social media in which she baselessly accused President Joe Biden and his administration of supporting the genocide of Palestinian people. • According to reports, Democrat political figure George Norcross was removed from Lincoln Financial Field during Sunday’s Eagles-Cowboys game after he placed a U.S./Israel flag outside of his luxury box.
