Today on the podcast, the Democratic Party is winnowing the field of candidates. Make no mistake

about it. The DNC, who is an organization that is committed to providing slots for 20 candidates across

two nights in their first two debates, the June debates in Miami, the July debates in Detroit,

have now announced its new set of rules and the threshold that candidates have to meet

in order to participate in the third and fourth

debates of their debate series, the DNC has announced they are doing 12 sanctioned debates

for this nomination season, six in calendar year 2019, six in calendar year 2020.

And the third and fourth debates are now set for September and October.

ABC News, in partnership with Univision, will be hosting the September debates set to take

place on September 12th and September 13th, if needed.

And I say if needed, because it seems to me these new rules that the DNC has now announced

are so clearly aimed at getting this down to one night and a stage of fewer than 10 people.
