When we look at Old Testament stories, our tendency is to ask, how am I like Moses or how am I like Aaron?

And the best place that we can place ourselves in those stories is to ask, how am I like Israel?

The ones that I want to say, you guys are morons, like pull it together, and that's usually the seat that I'm sitting in.

So why does God have to say there are no other gods?

Because the human heart is always looking for something else to worship.
