Summary

Josh posted on Instagram a few weeks ago about his changing relationship with social media and his phone. The post had many people asking questions related to what he is learning, with some even asking him to talk about his experience on a podcast episode. Alas, this is that episode.

In a world so driven by social media and technology, we don't recognize how enslaved we are to the things that keep us from being fully present in the moment with others--especially our loved ones. In this episode, Josh talks about two significant ongoing practices that have helped him show up well and inch closer to his true self: daily rhythms and ordering his inner world.

Josh talks about:

* The definition of "continuous partial attention" and the negative effects it can have on your children.* The importance of recognizing the root of your busyness and what is taking you away from time with the Lord and loved ones.* The power of doing the one thing that will help you show up as the best version of you.

Show Notes:

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE PRAY AS YOU GO APP: A daily prayer session, designed for use on portable devices, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst traveling to and from work, study, etc.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE GABB PHONE: A phone designed to protect kids while keeping them connected to family and friends. It gives parents peace of mind because it doesn't have the internet, social media, or games.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE LECTIO 365 APP: A daily devotional resource that helps you pray the Bible everyday.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE LIGHT PHONE: Stay connected without the distraction. For those looking to spend less time on their phones and more time engaged with the world around them.
