So among the decorated favorites, among the favorites with championship pedigree.

Brazil hits the group stage in the best form,

but that obviously is not the biggest story today.

It is not because one of the other champions of pedigree, in fact the defending champion.

Speaking of pedigree, yeah. Germany is out, out in the group stage for the first time ever for Germany.

But the fourth time in the last five occasions

that the defending World Cup champion goes out
