Over the last couple of months, we've gotten to know most of Michigan's incoming freshman class,

as we've discussed, the top ranked class in the country.

So the question is, what is the upper bound?

What is the peak of expectations, realistically, for some of these very talented freshmen.

What's cool is that you don't have to go too far back into the annals to figure things out

because, well,

Michigan boasts two of the last three freshmen of the year in the Big Ten.

We spent much of last season discussing and detailing the impact that Hunter Dickinson

had in route to what was a known destination that freshman of the year award since about the

middle of the season.

That's the likely peak for a big

man as a freshman. Hunter was dominant early and often. He was a key part of Michigan's run to a

big 10 regular season title and the elite A to the NCAA tournament. As for a wing, well,

Ignis Brasdakis is a pretty darn good example from 2018, 2019. Brzdakis burst onto the

scene and really never looked back for this Michigan club. He scored 17 or more points in seven

of his first 10 games, including being a critical cog in Michigan's revenge-seeking win at

Villanova in game three of the season. He had an outstanding Big Ten tournament overshadowed only by the leader of that Michigan

club, Xavier Simpson, then a junior, who delivered several of his 30 assists that weekend to Iggy.

And Brzeakis was really the only player who got anything going in Michigan's final game

of that season,

the tough day to have a tough day against Texas Tech in the Sweet 16.

Brzeakis did have a decision to make that offseason, and he chose to leave for the NBA
