You'll hear my entire conversation with Phil Martelli later in the show, but one sentence from that conversation stood out,

both when you consider the aftermath of Wednesday's loss to Memphis and also looking at what's ahead for Michigan on a quick turnaround here in the Bahamas.

We didn't respond in the first half to Friday night's disappointment.

And the first half from Michigan was rough.

There's no denying 13 turnovers, 38% shooting from the floor, a 12 point deficit. This is a Michigan

team that came in posting 45 or more points in the first half in each of their first four games.

Yet at the break on Wednesday, they were stuck in quicksand down 37 to 25 now things did

Then Memphis came up with an 80 run, and that basically put it away.

So response-wise now, Michigan from Friday had till Wednesday to get back into the lab to try to improve upon and

fix what illed them against Long Beach State. That's a pretty lengthy amount of time, all things

considered. That luxury very much not available to the Wolverines heading into a Thanksgiving

clash with a Stanford team that suffered a gut punch loss in overtime to Arkansas

in Wednesday's nightcap.

Response will be key for a Michigan team that no longer has the shine of a, as in terms of

external perceptions, a better than expected start to this season.

Right now, the Wolverines are in danger of missing out on an opportunity for any

Quad 1 wins here in Paradise. Because if they lose Thursday to the Cardinal, that would set up a
