Down 13 to 3, six minutes in, on the road in a sold-out, hostile environment without your second

leading score. That was the situation that Michigan faced on Thursday night in Piscataway

against Rutgers. Most teams would have folded based on those circumstances. Quite frankly,

Michigan, as recently as a few weeks ago, may have folded in that

circumstance.

What did the Wolverines do this time?

They completely flipped the switch from down 13 to 3 to a 55 to 32 scorching run to knock off Rutgers by 13. Early on, this place was humming. By the end,

fans were filing out. The place was already halfway empty when the final buzzer sounded. And

Michigan, a team that has struggled on the road this season, they picked up a massive win.

Their third road win with a team that, let's face it, they've had a ton of growing pains.

They've had youth have to learn while being in the crux of Big Ten play, in the crux of an NCAA tournament chase.

And yet you have the backcourt of Doug McDaniel and Kobe Buffkin,

a couple of teenagers who, one's a true freshman,

and the other one is pretty darn close to a freshman in terms of experience

and in terms of age.

What did they do?

They were the team's top two scores.

A combined 30 points on 11 of 21 shooting. Doug McDaniel had four

rebounds. Buffkin dished out three assists. And how about the duo McDaniel with five steals,

Buffkin with three? Michigan sucked the life out of Jersey Mike's Arena. Michigan did what Rutgers

has done so many times this season. Excel with
