To me, there wasn't one singular play or moment that swung Michigan's matchup with Purdue on Thursday

night at Chrysler Center. Yeah, the 15-0 run changed the math and how both teams were able to dictate

terms the rest of the way. Michigan had some early leads and then Purdue took control for good

in that moment with the 15-0 surge.

But this was a case of two teams with vastly different levels of comfort

with regards to who they are at this point of the season late January.

Purdue, this is a machine led by right now the national player of the year in Zach Edie.

And in the first half, Edie put up 15 points, led everybody, he was efficient, he was dominant, he was Zach Eadie.

Second half, Eadie only put up four points, yet Purdue continued to click.

They shot 57% in the second half.

They did enough defensively to flummox Michigan and get the job done.

Michigan, on the other hand, certainly has some reasons why it has been an uneven stretch.

The Wolverines for for the first time playing without their star freshman, Jed Howard.

He was out due to the ankle injury suffered four days prior against Minnesota.

Michigan has already had to contend with some injury issues, plenty of different rotations,

but still at this point of the season, almost midway through Big Ten play for the Wolverines,

they're still trying to figure things out. What's the best rotation? Who are some of the go-to guys? Who can be leaned upon

consistently? Purdue has someone who they lean on more than anybody else, Zach Edy. He's tremendous,

but they don't have to do that and they showed that down the stretch in the second half. Michigan

has not totally figured that out. And unfortunately for

the Wolverines, they're running out of time, especially because when you talk about swings,

there wasn't a big swing in the game itself, at least one individual one, but this game was a huge
