In recent years, the mental side of being a high-profile athlete has gotten more attention.

Really, mental health has been a key topic overall since the start of the pandemic two and a half years ago.

But as of late, many athletes have opened up about the unique challenges of trying to compete and ultimately succeed at such high levels.

Now, don't get me wrong, being a high level athlete, say a basketball player

at the University of Michigan, comes with some incredible opportunities and experiences.

But we as fans only get to see a sliver of the process of what goes into it. Most of that

sliver we do get to see is what these young women men work so hard for, the games themselves.

And some of those games provide memories that last forever.

Think about the scene at Chrysler Center back in February when the Michigan crowd stormed

the court after that blowout win over Purdue.

Think about those post-game locker room celebrations for both the women's and the men's teams back in March after both reached the second weekend of their NCAA tournaments. But to earn those, to experience those, a player and a team as a whole must put in hundreds of practices, thousands of workouts, tens of thousands of shots stacked one year on top of the next.

On this week's episode, we'll hear from Terris Reed, another talented member of this Michigan

men's basketball class of 2022. Right away, you'll hear about some of his vulnerabilities,

his challenges, and his reflections. He is very willing and able

to open up. You'll also understand why Terrace is already beloved within this program,

the personality contagious. He's an old soul in how he handles things, how he speaks, and how he

spends his free time. Stay tuned for that at the very end.

But don't get me wrong. On the basketball side, this young man is a potential force,

and he won't get outworked by anyone. He seems to have his priorities in place,

and you better believe he's trying to be the very best player he can be,

and another great addition to the Michigan basketball family.
