The new world order of college basketball giveth, potentially it taketh away.

The reality is that the offseason in college basketball will never, ever be the same.

One week after the high of Hunter Dickinson's announcement that he would return,

Michigan fans learned that Frankie Collins, a key part of Michigan surge to the

Sweet 16, a month and a half ago, has entered the transfer portal.

We don't know how it'll all play out.

Same with the entrance into the NBA draft process for Caleb Houston and Musa Diabate,

but we do know one thing.

Expecting to know in the spring exactly what a college basketball

roster will look like in November, those days are over, way, way over. So where do we go from here?

The reality is, I'm not really sure, no one really is. We can all make our predictions,

but those are about as good as your NCAA tournament brackets

after the first weekend of the dance. You'll be able to peg a few things here. They're

get a few games, right? A few players, right? But this time last year, if I had told you,

hey, Hunter Dickinson will be coming back for his junior year and Frankie Collins would be heading

into the portal, no chance you would have believed me.

College basketball is great during those three weeks in March and into early April because of the unexpected.

That reality, that unexpected nature is spilling over to the roster building time of the calendar,

the early to middle stages of the off season.
