So this week we're joined by three turmoil activists from Guam and they discuss the legal,

political and cultural case to decolonize Guam. I think it kind of falls outside of the

purview of a lot of people's thinking, especially since it's, you know, its status

as you know, a US protectorate but also under current international law it does qualify or at least there's a case to be made for Guam to be decolonized.

And it touches on several subjects

that we've recently covered in the series

of the Red Nation podcasts,

such as the expansion of the sex trade industry through militarization and colonization of indigenous peoples,

as well as a general kind of buildup of U.S US presence in the Pacific specifically to check, you know, China and the kind of geopolitics of that particular region. This is a really interesting episode. It's quite long and

detailed, but I don't know Jen did you want to introduce our guests for today?

Yes, we have three organizers with Prita Hila Texian Save the Retidian. We have Maria Hernandez May, who is an original descendant of the families of Letexian.

Maria is an indigenous Chamaru mother of two, an environmental and cultural rights activist born on the island of

Gohan. She has a BA in literature and I miss in business administration. And next we

have Jessica Nahuata.

She is a mother of four.

She is a farmer whose community work

is centered around strengthening local food sovereignty.

And finally, we have Monika Flores who is a queer tomorrow artist and daughter of

Gohan. And just for reference as you're listening to the episode, they refer to Monika as Nick, which kind of sounds like Nick.
