And I'm Jake Sherman, paging Jared Kushner and Donald Trump, the world comes out against the U.S. naming Jerusalem, Israel's capital.

Turkey says it's their red line.

Barack Ravid of Israel's Channel 10 says if the U.S. declares Jerusalem the capital, it, quote,

might lead to cutting off diplomatic relations between Turkey and Israel. The German foreign ministers said that the U.S. recognition

of Jerusalem as Israel's capital will be, quote, counterproductive and will only worsen the crisis.

The Palestinians say if the U.S. takes that move, that it would end the peace push. In Saudi Arabia,

which the U.S. has become closer with under Donald Trump, says this would be, quote, an unwarranted

shift in the United States impartial position at a time when the world looks to the United States

to work on achieving the desired progress in the peace process. The French president also came out

against the move. We've got some news to kick off this morning. The Joint House Senate Republican legislative

retreat will be held at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia in January. The retreat,

organized by the Congressional Institute, will be January 31st through February 2nd. President

Donald Trump is expected to attend. The Greenbrier is more than

four hours from Washington in the West Virginia Mountains. And the New York Times is reporting

that Michigan Democrat John Conyers, the longest serving member of the House, will make an

announcement today that he is retiring. Conyers' grandson, Ian Conyers, said he plans to run for

his great-uncle's seat. Let's take a step back. This decision allows Conyers to leave and avoid

more awkward confrontation between House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team

with Conyers and other members of the CBC. But there is still some pressure from some corners of the Democratic

Caucus for Conyers to resign immediately. The tweet of the morning comes from the AP's Josh Letterman,

their State Department correspondent, who's in Brussels with Rex Tillerson. Letterman quoted Tillerson
