The Simple Handicap for Friday, December 10th.

Thank you for making me a part of your morning.

And yesterday was a clear example of why betting the NFL can be so difficult, so many

different times, and why I wish that I had just the slightest bit of desire in my life to watch or bet on basketball

because advantages there can just be taken advantage of so much easier sometimes than an NFL.

So the example goes like this.

So I've been talking a week about Atlanta, Carolina,

props.

And I was saying there was information that came out, but I wasn't expecting the

market to openly react to. And that was in relation to the firing of Joe Brady, which

happened very sort of quietly last Sunday during the kickoff of the early games.

And so I saw that news, and it immediately matched up with rumors that were going around Carolina that there was a growing feud between Matt Ruhl and Joe Brady for not running

the ball as much as Ruhl wanted.

And Ted Winn, who's a fantastic NFL writer for The Athletic, was really

breaking down the story. And he went back and found different quotes from Ruhle when he first

joined the team that were really bizarre about just extremely high run rates and how they wanted

to run the ball at least 35 times a game because

when he did that in college, Baylor was some ridiculous amount winning. And no kidding, right? If you're

running the football 40 times in a game, it's not surprising that you're going to likely be

ahead. And so those games you're running more are going to lead to wins.
