Hi, everyone. Welcome to a quick wrap up of tonight's press conference held by President Biden

in the evening hours in Washington, D.C. I'm recording this just after 8 o'clock central time.

The press conference just finished. And for those of you who weren't able to watch the entire press conference,

or maybe some of you who have watched and want a little bit more reflection, I thought this could

be a good way for us to chat. I didn't want to take more time to look at what everybody else is

saying. I just wanted to take a moment to think about what are the top three things that stand out to

smarter news about the events that we watched and also why those those standout moments matter.

Let's take a big step back. The reason why this press conference was really important for the

president is that it was his first live press conference in front of not only a live audience of journalists that are

asking him questions that could be unexpected, but a live broadcast audience, likely the

largest live broadcast audience that he's seen since the debate that took place two weeks ago.

And as you know, his performance in that debate raised questions about his fitness to

not only remain presidential candidate, but also his fitness to serve.

There's been all sorts of questions about the president's health and mental capacity.

And at this point, there is still a lingering

question about what the future looks like. Will he continue in the presidential race? And after

two weeks of these questions, we still don't have an answer as to what and how this story will develop.

We have an answer from the president.

The president says he's staying in.

And that is one of the big headlines from tonight.

There's no daylight in that answer.

He is staying in the race and he had some reasons as to why he believes he should,
